Maverick, you meant a 'recovered' ex-witness, correct? I mean, were dealing with a person that has a normal life here. If you don't believe me, ask my wife!

i have met a wonderful man but unfortunately he is a jw.
i have never been interested or really ever been around any religion in my life so all of this right now is very fascinating to me.
i have been thinking of studying to become one but am also having a hard time finding anything on the net that is positive about it.

where did all that water go that supposedly covered the earth?
Sounds like a question that only mother earth can explain.
Badboy, have you ever been to Jamaica or Rio De Janerio during their rainstorms? True, its not a global flood, but your question was about what happens to the flood waters. I 've been to both countries and remarkably when they have heavy rains that result into floods, the flooded street eventually recedes. Where did the water go? How about all the snow that is dumped on the earth, where does it go? How can mother earth sustains such extra weight?
Someone just recently posted about mood swing changes during this time of the year. Hmmmmm apparently it's true, but can you and I explain it? Lack of sun, some have answered. Put your hands together, about an eigth of an inch apart, and tell me if you feel heat. If you do, do you know why?
Do we need to understand all of mother natures miracles to enjoy them? I think the female egg and the male sperm when united has produced many happy faces.

I'm going to let you answer your own question. First, let me quote you. You said you have "A normal family...I am just a normal women really."
Do you want to stay Normal?

for part 1, see : http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/62447/1.ashx .
well, my dad did his "elder" duty and called the elders in whose territory we now live.
two of them came by to see us this past saturday morning.
Nark, in the earlier days, they would announce the reason for your expulsion. They don't do it today. A brother who was expelled for drunkedness was looked upon differently than the one who was an apostate. Elders can visit and help brothers who have problems but not so with an apostate. A person may have a 'weakness' and it can be corrected with help. On the other hand, an apostate was considered incorrigible. I come from a different era and maybe today's views are different than the good old days. Also, different areas are more laxed than others. That too is weird and why is it?

this is a serious question.
how many of you have jobs?
from the number of posts and the times people complain on here, it looks that many of you don't.
Boy, oh boy joke10r, you are one joker! You have four pages of replies and you've never replied to ONE!
By the way, check out larc's reply.

2escapedlifes, greetings. I read your interesting letter and I hope the elders don't interpret it another way. What I mean by that is, by you speaking against the organization, they can interpret it to be apostatical. For instance you said, "Whatever happened to exercising one's "Bible Trained Conscience" in making decisions rather (yes that 'rather' word) than policed conformance to the 'Governing Body's' current and latest interpretation of scripture." They can show you have a 'conflict' with the GB's interpretations. I'm viewing your letter as a former elder. I get your drift, but they may not.
You also said, "...for we have seen and experienced so much hypocrisy in this "ORGANIZATION" over the years." This is not going to sit well with them. One always has to avoid giving the elders ammunition, such ammunition will be used against you. To walk away is not the same as being considered an apostate to them. I hope they don't misinterpret your letter. I also hope I'm wrong, it would be a relief to me.

okay, i've decided i'm going to try and check it out.
thursday is the first session and happens to end at a time that is convenient for me to go to my normal evening activity elsewhere in sydney.
time is from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.. so, what will happen on day one, and is there anything in particular i should be looking/listening for?
What to expect? I would always get my best sleep at assemblies.

hello fellow bastards and bastardetts.. i was reading a thread a while back concerning this affliction, and was surprised of the amount of people who suffer from this.
for those unfamiliar with this,........it's basically a 'wintertime blues' thingy......but much worse.
it is caused by a lack of enough sunlight, and can cause severe depression in the winter months when the light is not as bright or as long in duration.. i have it pretty bad and turn into a scrooge, depressed ass, usually at the end of november.
Gumby, Since I'm 'a man of all seasons' it's constant. No, just kidding. Yes, its been said that sunlight plays a crucial role in people's lives. I guess you're talking about seasonal 'mood' swings. Personally, I enjoy the 4 seasons. I seem to flow or adjust to seasons. I do dislike hot, hot weather, not steamy women though.
I've been to Hawaii at least eight times. I found to much sunlight got to be boring for me, believe it not. I don't doubt that mother earth with all its power and its make up, play a crucial role in our mood swings. As long as those mood swings are positive, I'll just keep swinging.
My wife has the problem you've mentioned. I guess our body chemistry has a lot to do with it. Have you considered the food that you eat also play a role?
I guess calling us bastards and bastardettes often means your always in this mood. So, what season are YOU talking about? Take this comment with a grain of salt.

this double life is slowly eating away at me.
i'm planning to fade away and need all the ideas i can get.. it needs to be a fade because my parents, who i care deeply about are heavily into it and my poor hubby is wanting to obtain more privileges in the cong.
me, on the other hand, can't stand going to so many meetings and service and giving parts, etc.. very much appreciate your ideas and support.
Your well aware of flashing yellow lights right? Proceed with caution!
I wish I had the magic answer, but I don't. This sounds like a real, real, real problem. Yours is certaintly not a cut and dry case.
My only suggestion is time and patience. You have a real mine field here and only one step at a time will prevent you and your husband from having explosive situations. Don't forget ,whenever he gets to learn the truth, his world will be affected too.
Your in a better position to know your husband. You gotta know his strengths and weaknesses. Does he sense any difference in your attitude about him, the org, friends and about yourself? How normal can you remain without him suspecting anything? I certaintly don't envy your situation.
If only you could go a vacation for a month, it would be a start in getting the ball rolling. You see, after coming from a vacation you would have an excuse for being different or he will notice a change in you. The very thought of him allowing you to go vacation without him, will create a guilt trip in him. He would blame himself not you for changing or being different. (Anyways, it was just a thought. It happens only in movies.)
You have my understanding and I will be thinking of you. I wish you the best results.
